Telerehabilitation on Embodia
Embodia provides an in-house telerehab solution that allows running one-on-one consults (up to 120 minutes per consult). This solution is HIPAA and PIPEDA-compliant. If you prefer running your consult through Zoom, Embodia also integrates with Zoom to allow you to connect your own Zoom for Healthcare account for Telerehabilitation, including group consults.
Note: to use Zoom for healthcare applications, your account needs to be covered under Zoom for Healthcare (you can learn more here).
Once you're an Embodia Member, you can connect your own Zoom for Healthcare account to run telerehab consults through Zoom. By connecting your Zoom account to Embodia, you will allow Embodia to manage meetings on Zoom on your behalf so when you schedule a telerehab consult on Embodia, a corresponding meeting on Zoom will be automatically created.
Adding your Zoom account to Embodia
To add your Zoom account to Embodia, click on Consults > My telerehab accounts and then Connect my Zoom account:
Confirm that you understand that a Zoom for Healthcare account is needed by checking the checkbox and clicking Connect my Zoom account:
This will redirect you to Zoom. Once you sign into your Zoom account, you will be prompted to accept the request from Embodia to connect to your Zoom account. If you would like to proceed, click on Allow and your Zoom account will now be connected to Embodia.
Setting the recording settings on your Zoom account
When you're scheduling a consult through Embodia (more on this in the help article, Scheduling an online consult), you will have the option to automatically start local recording when the consult starts. For this to work, you need to set the proper settings on your Zoom account to enable Local recording. To do so, click on Settings in the sidebar, then on the Recording tab, and then toggle the Local recording setting.
For more information, please refer to the documentation on Zoom:
Removing your Zoom account from Embodia
If you no longer want to connect your Zoom account to Embodia, you can disconnect your account directly on Zoom:
- Log into your Zoom Account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage > Added Apps or search for the Embodia app.
- Click the Embodia app.
- Click *Remove.
By disconnecting your Zoom account from Embodia, you deauthorize Embodia from managing meetings on Zoom on your behalf and you will no longer be able to schedule telerehab consults on Embodia through Zoom.
