Assessment and Treatment During Pregnancy for the Orthopaedic Physiotherapist
This evidence-informed course will teach assessment considerations for physiotherapists working with pregnant individuals presenting with orthopaedic symptoms or exercise inquiries.
Course content includes precautions/contraindications, prenatal assessment, a review of clinical practice guidelines, exercise prescription, and patient education. Prior experience in prenatal care or pelvic health is not required.
Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Integrate a prenatal assessment tool into clinical practice.
- Select and prescribe appropriate treatment techniques for the prenatal population.
- Access patient and clinician resources for prenatal physiotherapy care
This online course is intended for orthopaedic or women’s health physiotherapists who would like to increase their confidence in working with the prenatal population (physiotherapy students/assistants and allied health professionals are also welcome to attend).
